Bummed because VB5 and VB6 support AddressOf as a way to get to a pointer to a VBA function, when Access and the other Office 97 applications do not? Here is the sample file on how to get the same functionality in Access 97 and all Office 97 applications from an article I wrote with Ken Getz for the May, 1998, issue of Informant's Microsoft Office Developer. The CallBacks.xls sample is in Excel, but can be converted to any VBA/VBE supporting application. This article also appears in a truncated format in MSDN and has been in there the last few versions, but since I am offended by the parts that they did not include, I do not include the link here. This is something that has been frequently requested... believe it or not... in the Japanese market since I started working on multinational VB6 and Office applications. If you use Japanese Access or VB , or write applications for people on Japanese platforms, you may have encountered problems with the fact your users love to type in SBCS characters "because they look nicer." Unfortunately, VB/VBE/VBA needs for you to use DBCS characters in order to make valid names for forms, reports, modules, etc. If you don't know what SBCS and DBCS are, then you can ignore this. But, if you need it, you can download this basDbcsSbcs module, which contains the function to convert these difficult characters.
